Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m a native San Diegan and graduated from San Diego State as a Kinesiology major with an emphasis in athletic training. I worked at a clinic and a high school, rehabbing and caring for sports injuries. When my husband and I wanted to start a family I said good-bye to this part of my life. My husband and I have 4 girls; ages 10, 8, 5, and our baby just turned 1. I love being able to stay home with my girls and work my Thirty-One business. My life is always chaotic but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What is your professional bio?
I joined Thirty-One in July of 2011. I promoted to director in the fall of 2014. That same year I earned an amazing incentive trip. I have earned many incentives through my years with Thirty-One; such as a $600 best buy gift card, $1000 cash bonus, conference paid for, tons of free products, gift cards for date nights with my hubby, and so much more. Thirty-One is about Celebrating, Encouraging, and Rewarding woman and I am so happy to be a part of this.
Why did you start your own business?
My husband had been laid off from his job and was struggling in his new job. I needed to go back to work but really wanted to be home with my three girls (at the time). I was thinking of waitressing in the evenings, but then saw the Thirty-One catalog. I loved everything in it and wanted to buy it all – but had no budget. I then saw it was just $99 to sign up as a consultant and thought why not, I have nothing to lose. I fell in love with the company and found out I was pretty good at selling.
What are you most proud of in your business?
I earned a trip to the all inclusive Rivera Maya Hard Rock Hotel in 2014. It was amazing, Thirty-One spoiled us!!
What’s your super power?
I have eyes on the back of my head.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
My old-fashioned paper planner and Thirty-One’s zipper pouches. They keep me organized even when I don’t feel very organized.
What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not running your business?
I love going out to eat. I’m a wanna-be foodie and enjoy trying new restaurants with my husband or friends.
What is one thing you wish you knew when you first started?
Don’t be afraid to ask…
Any advice for new entrepreneurs or someone who is thinking of starting their own business?
When I started I went to a friend to see what she thought. She was supportive and excited for me. Let people know about your plans and ask for their feedback.
