Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I have been a serial entrepreneur for most of my life. However, my first official business started when my daughter was born in 2001. I couldn’t imagine her spending more time at daycare than she would with me. She I launched an Errand and Virtual Assistant company and had my first client before my last day! I also have a son, who is 19 and a Basset Hound named Cooper. I love the outdoors… the mountains to be specific and I am a major introvert… although most people are surprised to hear that. Joy is spending time with my family, a cup of coffee in hand and either wakeboarding, snowboarding or hiking!

Why did you start your own business?
I am totally unemployable! I don’t do well with people telling me what to do and when my daughter arrived in 2011, I knew it was time to go full time on my own.
What are you most proud of in your business?
I always wanted a freedom based business, where I could work from anywhere and have the flexibility to work when I wanted to work. I accomplished that a few years ago and LOVE IT!
What’s your super power?
I am an incredible strategist and my intuition is crazy good, which allows me to work magic with my clients businesses!
What is one thing you can’t live without?
Sunshine and fresh air… too much gloom and I feel all depressed and yucky. If I can get outside, soak up sun and move my body, I feel amazing regardless of what is happening in my world. And, of course, it goes without saying nothing would matter without my family.
What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not running your business?
Ha! I feel like I already answered this… I love being outside and being active. Although I do love a good lazy day now and again!!
What is one thing you wish you knew when you first started?
I wish I would have gotten a business coach when I first started! It’s something I find extremely valuable for myself and I would have gotten to where I am now, a lot quicker!
Any advice for new entrepreneurs or someone who is thinking of starting their own business?
Do what you love and would happily do for free! Then surround yourself with like minded entrepreneurs and be willing to get outside your comfort zone! All that’s left is determination. 🙂
