We recently caught up with Jenny Glenn our May Featured Member Spotlight.  She is full of energy and an expert at juggling being a wife, a mom and a business owner!  Her dream of teaching dance and owning her own studio has been a life long dream.  Which is why, you will most likely find her hanging at her very own dance studio, Signature Dance.
 
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am a mom, wife and business owner. I love junk food and reality television. I pride myself on my customer service and connection with my customers.
 
What is your professional bio:
Jennifer Glenn is a graduate of the nationally recognized Oklahoma City University Dance Program under the direction of Jo Rowan where she received her Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. Her experience ranges from working on popular TV shows such as Veronica Mars, The Heiress, Fashion House and HBO’s John from Cincinnati, to performing with professional sports networks including the ABA, NFL, NBA and NPSL. She had the privilege of dancing for recording artist, Natalie Loftin and has also worked for Barry Manilow’s Stiletto Entertainment while performing for Holland America Cruise Lines. Jennifer is a dancer, a performer, and a teacher. She has been teaching dance to students of all ages for the past 10 years and has worked in dance studio management for the past 4 years. Her life long dream has always been to open her own studio and that dream is now her reality! Jennifer is originally from Michigan and relocated to San Diego with her husband in 2006.
 
Why did you start your own business?
I wasn’t satisfied working for others. I have always wanted to run my own studio and the time was right!
 
What are you most proud of in your business?
On day 1, we had 75 students and five years later, we have over 300! The rapid growth is thanks to my amazing staff and our outstanding retention rate!
 
What’s your super power?
Teaching 2-4 yr olds!! This is by-far the hardest part of my job but also the most rewarding!
 
What is one thing you can’t live without?
Sweatpants and ice cream!
 
What is your favorite thing to do when you’re not running your business?
Rarely do I have free time but when I do, I take advantage of it and spend time with my family.
 
What is one thing you wish you knew when you first started?
You can’t do it alone! Take all the help that people offer you.
 
Any advice for new entrepreneurs or someone who is thinking of starting their own business?
Make sure you have a good support system.
